ASC National Competition

Congratulations to Daniel Whitley and his teammates for competing at the national ASC Open Concrete Solution competition in Reno, NV. The competition was sponsored by Sundt Construction and judged self performing concrete groups who managed and performed the work for the given problem. Daniel stated "Our problem statement was an 11 story hotel being added on to an existing and active casino. We provided a full schedule, estimate, and plan for all structural concrete as well as a safety plan for the company and one for pedestrian safety due to the casino. We then presented our bid to the Sundt employees and they seemed to be impressed with our performance both on the work, the presentation, and our ability to respond in a harsh Q&A session". His team took home second place out of 13 teams. Daniel is a QC Intern/Part Time Employee at our plant in Christiansburg, VA.

A New Beginning for Chandler

This year at our annual employee meeting, we unveiled our new logo to all of our employees. We are proud to announce the launch of our new logo as part of our commitment to better serve our customers and improve the development of our brand. The Chandler brand has remained largely unchanged for 20+ years and has served the company very well. It was time to evaluate the Chandler brand to ensure it was in sync with who we are as a company. We believe our new look aligns with what Chandler has become over the years. Our reach is bigger and our services have expanded. The goal was simple: develop a logo that provides clarity with what we do and modernize what has served us well for many years.

Chandler Concrete Receives CPN Star Awards

The Construction Professionals Network Star awards are presented annually to projects with CPN members involved that represent the highest quality of quality of construction in North Carolina. There are only three given each year and Chandler Concrete was fortunate to be involved in two of those. Union Square is a new healthcare education facility that was the first collaboration between UNCG, NCA&T, Guilford Tech, and Cone Health. This beautiful facility is located at Gate City Blvd and Lee Street and is the first significant project to help start redevelopment in the southeast portion of downtown Greensboro.

The second Star Award was presented to Chandler Concrete for our participation in the construction of the Leonard J. Kaplan Center for Wellness. This is UNCG’s new Student recreation facility. This impressive facility is very open, with exposed concrete columns throughout the building. To achieve a smooth aesthetically pleasing look, we provided self consolidating for these columns. The result was a consistently smooth surface, top to bottom with no vibration necessary during placement.

Chandler Concrete is proud to have been a part of these two projects and to have been honored by CPN for our efforts.
